There's a little sandy area in the cave....so one night I decided I just HAD to camp in a tent behind a waterfall. yes my tent got soaked, but no worse than an all--night drizzle. What a wonderful night I had though accompanied by the roar of the falls. This is how I NZ Frenzy!

Our family visited the falls the other day and really enjoyed it; it’s a lovely spot. We tried scrambling across the rocks on the near side of the pool in an attempt to reach the cave behind the falls, but we couldn’t quite make it. Perhaps you need to cross the stream at the bottom of the pool and clamber over the rocks on the far side of the pool to get to the cave? The kids were a little bummed that we couldn’t get there, but the rocks were slippery and it just seemed too tricky for us. If you make it to the cave, please let us know what route you took to do it.
